昨年のゴールデンウィーク、自邸「林崎松江海岸の家」にて、タイのアーティストjuli baker and summerとのコラボレーションによるオープンハウスを開催しました。

この展示のためにjuliが描き下ろしたランタン作品が家の至るところにディスプレイされ、会期中にはトークショーのほか、似顔絵コーナーも設けられ、南国の華やかな活気に満ちた三日間となりました。

「The Homesick Moon」というタイトルは、「家」を会場としたこの展示に際して、タイの田舎では夜の明かりが貴重なものであり、それが時に心細さを想起させるものだった、という彼女の母が生まれ育った土地でのエピソードから着想を得て、juli自身が名付けたものです。彼女のポップでカラフルなドローイングで彩られたランタンは、華やかながらも、どこか郷愁や哀愁を帯びた静かな寂しさを漂わせていました。

今年の5月17日には、韓国からサウンドアーティストhosoo、sofolofoを招き、ライブパフォーマンスとオープンハウスを掛け合わせたイベントを開催します。詳細はnewsページをご確認ください。

Last May, we held an open house at our residence, House in Hayashisaki Matsue Beach, in collaboration with the Thai artist juli baker and summer.

Lantern works specially created by Juli for this exhibition were displayed throughout the house. Alongside a talk event, a portrait-drawing corner was also set up, making it a vibrant three-day occasion filled with the lively energy of the tropics.

The title “The Homesick Moon” was given by Juli, inspired by a story from her mother, who grew up in rural Thailand, where light at night is precious and can sometimes evoke a sense of solitude. The lanterns, adorned with her signature pop and colorful drawings, carried a quiet sense of nostalgia and melancholy beneath their brightness.
